![]() I've done this myself, a couple of times, just to prove it to myself (didn't believe it till I did it.) Haven't tried this with the DP Pro, but it's probably no different than the RMR. If I get a P07 in 9MM later this year, it will have another red dot on it, not sure yet which brand. I sometimes walk by where it is stored and pull it out (not jerked, like you'd be pulling from a holster, just grasped in one hand and pulled out of it's hiding place) and every time the dot is clearly visible. The one on the Compact is "on" when we pick it up. So far no issues with switches/connections/etc. The one on the AR15 pistol was not working (it is stored in a place that gets very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter, don't know if that affected it or not). The one in my wife's Compact had been in there just over a year. I just replaced the batteries in the DP Pros about a week ago. I have a DP Pro (bought 2 again) on an AR15 pistol.ĭP Pro - uses a battery. She shoots small groups with it, when she does her part. Tall front sight with the DP Pro rear sight attached to the back of the DP Pro. My wife's CZ 75 Compact 9MM has a DP Pro on it. Trijicon makes a large number of sights in use by the US military so I'd say their stuff is pretty durable (not that I toss my guns on the ground every so often just to test the RMR). I can still put bullets on the target, where I want them. If I lose my glasses while using the RMR'd pistols I see a blurry dot on an in focus target. Can't use the back up irons, or the irons on a pistol with no red dot sight. If I lose my glasses, the front sight is invisible to me. For me the amber dot is more visible than the green dot (which pretty much disappears for my eyes) Some people report the green dot being more visible for them than the amber dot, though. What is wash out? If you and the pistol/RMR are in a shaded area and the target is in a brightly lit area the dot can be difficult to see. The dual illuminated model has one issue - wash out. I did find out I like the amber model better than the green. Again, loved it.ĭual illuminated RMR - no batteries to replace (requires removing the RMR, changing batteries and then a range trip to sight it in again - may only be once a year, but with the dual illuminated model the fiber optic is good till I pass it on to my boys one of these days and the tritium is good for 10 to 12 years). 40 S&W out the next week to get the slide machined for another dual illuminated RMR (amber dot on this one). Had a green dot dual illuminated RMR installed. Illumination output electronically regulated.P09 9MM - done first (experiment to see if I liked it).
